Day 17 - From The Side
We have all gotten pretty great at taking photos of people from the front, but sometimes forget to try a side angle for more interest. Shooting from the side can sometimes help in difficult lighting situations, by hiding the shadows. And let's face it, everyone has a "best side". The trick is finding it. Shooting from the side does not necessarily mean a hard profile, but shooting from the side can help take some of the pressure off of your subject since they don't have to look directly at the camera.
When shooting living objects from the side, remember to allow some negative space in front for the eyes so that there is room for their gaze to follow. This can be true for both people and animals.
Last, but not least, don't forget to wear your green today!!! We are headed out of town this evening for the maiden journey of our new camper! Hooray and Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!
