Naturally, a new house and new curtains call for new pillows, too. Since her leather couch is so dark, she wanted to lighten it up with a few new throw pillows. We found just the right fabric at Mary Jo's and we sewed them up yesterday--sort of a retro pattern that looks similar to bark cloth. While technically it might be considered a floral, she hoped that Rob would see it more as a graphic instead (he doesn't want any florals in his manly living room).
After carefully removing the covers from a few of her old pillows, we made new covers and put them on the couch while Rob was napping yesterday afternoon.
Fortunately, he commented about how much he liked the new pillows, so the "graphic pattern" passed his inspection. I love the little ampersand pillow we made, too.
I think it all looks really great with the vintage wall map I found at Canton last fall.
I just hemmed the edges of this great woven fabric (that was a steal at $5.99 a yard) and now they have a matching throw.
