Vacation Re-Cap Part One

Last Sunday, I picked up Dan and we flew out of Alexandria to Boston where we stayed a couple of nights. Dan loves history and Boston is certainly filled with it, so we spent Monday seeing the sites! It was hot and we did lots of walking, but it was fun. I ended up purchasing tickets for one of those tour buses that you can hop on and off of and that really helped. Dan had been most excited about seeing Paul Revere's house and the Old North Church.

But in the end, it seemed that his favorite thing was the Robert Shaw Memorial that we accidentally ran across while waiting for our trolley. I didn't know it, but he loves the movie "Glory", which tells the story of Robert Shaw and his participation in the War (Dan had even packed that movie in his suitcase).

Another favorite thing was getting to see Old Ironsides. He liked hearing about how the cannon balls bounced off the sides of the old wooden ship.

And MY favorite pictures from that day seem to feature Dan or the architectural details that surrounded us.

Sounds like fun! How fortuitous that you ran across that Robert Shaw monument. I was a little puzzled when I saw that photo on Flickr. Robert Shaw, who?

Can't wait to hear about the Nantucket adventures!

BTW... I love the songs on the blog right now. NEW SOUL is one of my absolute favorites!!
