If you had a day off from work and/or responsibilities, and could do anything you wanted, with whomever you wanted, what would your day look like? For me, this has changed over the years. When I was a much younger mom, my ideal day probably would have consisted of uninterrupted sleep and time to meet my friends for lunch. It might have even included time to catch up on some needed chores around the house.
These days, my ideal day might look a little bit like this:
**Waking up early for a workout, then returning home to sleep for another hour.
**A nice, hot, un-rushed shower, then breakfast on the deck in the cool morning light, with time
to peruse my favorite blogs and emails
**Dressing in comfortable, casual clothes and heading out on some sort of adventure with Ron--hiking, kayaking, or even exploring some out-of-the-way shops, etc.
**Taking amazing photographs (ideally) of nature or whatever activity we're involved in
**Eating a late lunch at a yummy, local restaurant.
**More exploring.
**Watching the sun set from an favorite outdoor location, or even out on the deck.
**Curling up on the couch back at the house to watch a movie before bedtime---with popcorn. Don't forget the popcorn.
Although I love to travel, I really don't long for exotic locales or expensive trips. I don't need fancy jewelry or gourmet food. I do, however, want to spend quality time with the people that I care about the most. Truly, any day that I get to spend with Ron, or the girls, or the grandkids, or my best-est buddy, without the demands of a tight schedule and tons of paperwork, would be my "ideal day".
What about you? Where would you go? What would you do? Who would you spend it with?
