When Callie was preparing for job interviews earlier this week, we talked about adding a "pop" of color to basic outfits. None of us are that skilled at pulling together outfits, but I do know that adding a simple necklace or colorful shoes can really add a lot to a simple outfit of black and white. Of course, we weren't able to find anything appropriate in the quick shopping trip we made--most necklaces were way too big and busy for my petite daughters. So, today when I was a Wal-Mart, I picked up a few strands of beads to make something fun for summer. I found these beads for $1.97 per package
and made three necklaces. This magenta one is for Jana. . .
. . . turquoise for Callie . . .
. . . and this one is for me! (I know mine isn't a pop of color, but I've been needing a simple black necklace to tie together a few outfits.)I decided to just use elastic cord instead of a clasp and all. That way, they can just be quickly pulled over the head and fit close to the neck. Hello Summer!

Yay! I need magenta beads--I already have the other colors. Thanks, mom!
What a great idea, I've been wanting an aqua necklace but can't find anything that isn't expensive or too frilly. I'm going to make my own! I've never used elastic thread, I'll have to try that! Thanks for stopping by and adding your link! -Allison
