Tonight, as I met with the senior high girls that I facilitate Bible study with, we talked about how Mary's world must have changed when she discovered that she was expecting Jesus. None of us had ever thought of Mary actually having any sort of "plan for her life", but like most girls, there probably was one. Oh sure, times were different then. Girls had babies at much younger ages and there were no "career" plans, but even if different from girls of today, it probably included things like getting married in a wedding, having children and being a housewife, etc. What must it have been like for her to be faced with an unplanned, impossible to explain pregnancy, giving birth at her age and the day-to-day upbringing of a Saviour??
