I Won!

Ever since I found Rebecca Sower's blog, I have enjoyed her beautiful embroidery and hearing about her travels to Haiti. A few days ago, she offered this great giveaway--
a stitched heart sketchbook.
On a whim, I entered and guess what . . . I won! Beautiful stitching, pretty lace and linen and a place for sketching----it just doesn't get much better than that! Thanks, Rebecca!

Flea Market Style

Months ago, the first issue of Flea Market Style magazine came out. I bought it and read it from cover to cover. When I saw Valine a few weeks later, I gave her my copy (after I was sure that I'd be able to find another for myself) and she loved it as much as I did. I love following their blog, too and getting to know the people behind the scenes. Right now, they are offering a giveaway--a beautiful necklace from Heather Bullard.

To enter, all you have to do is leave a comment mentioning your favorite article from the magazine. Now the whole magazine is wonderful, but with my past blog posts like this and this and even this (there are more, but I won't list them all), I knew without a doubt that my favorite article was the one about the Canton, TX Trade Days. I must admit that I'd never heard of the "legend" they mention in the article, but Valine and I intend to look her up the next time we're there!

Packages In the Mail and Rule of Thirds

Upon returning home last night, I was excited to find two packages awaiting me. The first was the wonderful giveaway that I won from Ariane. I couldn't wait to open the envelope and I certainly wasn't disappointed!! Isn't this great?!?!

She even added a zipper and pockets on the inside.

And how about this card that she made with a fabric applique on the front?!Thank you so much, Ariane. I can't wait until tomorrow when I can use the purse!

And my second package contained my new camera. Since Shutter School has begun, I tried to use the Rule of Thirds as I took this picture of my new set-up. Now, I've got to get that battery charged so I can try it out!

Winning Bounty

I got so excited yesterday telling you about winning, that I forgot to show what I'm winning. So here it is:I love this fabric and look at all the stitching that Ariane did! Can't wait to fill it with my things and use it. I'm thinking of what I might create with that charm pack, too.

I"m A Winner!

Last week was the big Spring Giveaway sponsored by Sew Mama Sew. It was great fun to check out all the blogs and see what kinds of wonderful, handmade goodies were being offered. I was amazed by how many people were participating---both in giving things away and in commenting. It's such a neat feeling to find so many people who share the same interests as me! The world really is a bit smaller with the internet and the world of blogging.

This morning as I was reading through my daily blog feed with Reader, this is what I read at Ariane's Crafts:----I'm the winner of her awesome giveaway!!! Hooray!!! I rarely ever win anything, so this was especially exciting! I can't wait to get home from work one day soon and find a package from Ariane waiting for me.
