Almost Time To Revel

It's almost Revel time! Even though I work on the committee, for some reason, the Red River Revel has snuck up on me this year. I can't believe it is only two weeks away! I even managed to get it totally confused with the trip to Canton I'm hoping to be able to make (keep your fingers crossed)

Today, Carol and I spent some "quality time" down at the Revel office working on the graphics. Despite the fact that we've been going down at least one afternoon a week for the past month, there is still MUCH to do.

I mainly work right here, creating the graphics---

and sending them over here to the vinyl cutter (it's kind of like an industrial size Cricut -- only easier to use).

Carol has been setting up the signs. Today we even recruited Emily to help out when she can.

As we were leaving this afternoon, the first tents were going up. It's almost Revel time!!

Rain Day

Wow! This is the first time I ever remember having school canceled due to flooding in Shreveport!! Last night's storm was incredible and dumped so much rain on our already saturated ground. My street was flooded, my neighbor's garage was flooded and apparently there are plenty of houses flooded in the area, too. I'm fortunate in that I never lost power or internet, and after initially waking up at 5 a.m. to check the TV for closures, was happy to turn over and get a bit of extra sleep.

So what have I done today? Well, this . . . and this . . . and lots of this . . . and after a great meal at Rollin' In The Dough, now I'm beginning this . . .What's the best part of it all? Tomorrow is only Saturday!

Google Reader

Ever since I discovered Google Reader (via Heather's post), I've enjoyed going through my favorite blog list so much! It is so easy to check and see when a new post has been added. Then, after downloading the "next" button to my Bookmarks Toolbar, everything is so easy! I just click from one blog to the next and I love it! Of course, I keep adding more and more blogs as I discover them, so the list keeps getting longer. One of my favorite things . . . when I've finished reading all the new posts, there's a screen that pops up and congratulates me for reaching the "end of the internet". I know I'm such a dork, but that always makes me smile.
